Job summary

MaineHealth Belfast is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to support our Primary Care and Walk-In Clinic. You will assist providers, perform clinical and administrative tasks, and help ensure smooth daily operations within the practice.

Responsibilities include patient prep, vital signs, phlebotomy, immunizations, and accurate EHR documentation, with a focus on high-quality patient-centered care in a team setting. A strong foundation in MA duties is required.

Qualifications

• Requires HS diploma or GED and formal MA training with clinical hours.
• Certifications such as CMA, RMA, or similar preferred; BLS required within 30 days.
• Prior MA experience in a busy practice is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and prep patients, record vital signs, review medical history.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, and treatments.
• Administer medications and immunizations per directions.
• Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing.
• Document patient data in the EHR accurately.
• Support front office tasks including scheduling and referrals.
• Maintain exam rooms and supply inventory; ensure safety.
• Collaborate with the care team for patient-centered care.
