Job summary

Duke Health's Primary Care team seeks a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support both clinical and administrative tasks in a busy practice. You will take histories, measure vitals, assist during exams, prepare patients and specimens, and help manage records and scheduling.

This role requires MA certification at appropriate levels and BLS. High standard of patient care, teamwork, and flexibility are essential in a fast-paced clinic environment in central North Carolina.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program strongly preferred; high school or GED required.
• Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA required at respective levels.
• BLS certification is required at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Take medical histories and record vital signs.
• Explain treatment procedures and prepare patients for examinations.
• Assist physicians during examinations and procedures.
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician.
• Draw blood and prepare specimens for lab tests.
• Maintain and file patient records; schedule appointments.
