Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Canfield Primary Care location. The role supports physicians by collecting patient history, taking vitals, and preparing patients for exams.

Responsibilities include administering medications, collecting specimens, documenting information, and assisting with procedures. The candidate should have a High School diploma, enrollment in an approved MA program within 30 days, and MA certification eligibility or credentialing.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Enrollment in an approved Medical Assistant program within 30 days of employment.
• MA externship or clinical lab training preferred.
• 1 year Medical Assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Record patients' medical history and vital signs in medical records.
• Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure vitals.
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician.
• Collect specimens and prepare for testing.
• Explain procedures, medications, and instructions to patients.
• Sterilize instruments and manage waste; maintain sterile environment.
• Perform routine lab tests and office duties as needed.
• Assist physicians during exams and procedures.
