Job summary

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program.
• Certification in phlebotomy with blood draw experience.
• Proficiency in taking and recording vital signs.
• Knowledge of specimen processing and sterilization techniques.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination by taking vital signs and recording medical histories.
• Assist healthcare providers, including Nurse Practitioners, during examinations and procedures.
• Perform phlebotomy and draw blood samples for laboratory testing.
• Process and label specimens following established protocols.
• Maintain and sterilize medical instruments and equipment to comply with infection control standards.
• Manage patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations and privacy laws.
• Schedule patient appointments and coordinate communication between patients and staff.
• Educate patients on basic healthcare practices as directed by medical staff.
