Job summary

The role requires MA certification (CCMA/RMA/CMA/EMT or equivalent within 1 year), BLS, 1–2 years patient contact experience, EMR experience, and strong communication. Phlebotomy and POCT skills are required for clinical duties.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; some college preferred.
• Medical Assistant Certification required; CCMA, RMA, CMA, EMT or equivalent obtained within one year of employment.
• Active Basic Life Support certification required.
• 1-2 years of medical office/direct patient contact experience and use of electronic medical records preferred. New grads accepted.
• Basic computer and typing skills required.
• Familiarity with medical terminology required.
• Must demonstrate compassion, friendliness, courtesy and tactfulness with all patient interactions.
• Must be able to communicate well both written and verbally. Must be able to work well in a fast-paced setting with a team of providers, office staff, administrators while serving patients and caregivers.
• Must be efficient and conscientious in preparing for and delivering medical care; must be able to adapt to specialty and practice settings across the medical group.
• Requires an awareness of patient confidentiality and ability to follow directions well, be engaged and work with minimal guidance.
• Ability to perform phlebotomy and point of care testing required.
