Job summary

Northwell Health seeks a Medical Assistant to perform patient care under physician or nurse supervision at our Staten Island site. You will prepare patients, record vitals, and assist with procedures in a busy outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certificate from Medical Assistant training program or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years of MA/EMT/CNA experience or completion of Northwell Health MA training program.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with health care team to coordinate and implement patient care plans.
• Performs vital signs, measurements, and screening procedures and documents findings.
• Collects specimens and assists with laboratory procedures following infection control protocols.
• Performs daily checks and calibration of laboratory equipment as needed.
• Assists physicians and nurses during procedures and examinations per protocol.
• Maintains orderly examination rooms and supports clerical tasks to ensure smooth flow.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Medical Assistant training program with certificate

1–3 years experience as MA/EMT/CNA or completion of Northwell Health MA training program
