Job summary

The Medical College of Wisconsin is seeking a Medical Assistant I in the Department of Plastic Surgery to support efficient clinic flow and high-quality patient care. You will greet patients, schedule appointments, prepare exam rooms, obtain histories and vitals, and route calls as part of a busy, on-site practice.

Work schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00–4:30 PM; environment is office-based with exposure to clinical settings. Prior MA experience or graduation from an accredited program is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Two years patient care experience or graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Program.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register clinic patients; obtain/update registration information and referrals as needed.
• Schedule clinic appointments and ancillary tests; maintain scheduling information.
• Prepare patient exam rooms and equipment using aseptic and sterile techniques.
• Escort patients to exam rooms; obtain history and vital signs; update medical records for physician review.
• Receive and route incoming clinic calls; record accurate messages and distribute to appropriate area.
• Stock and service patient exam rooms.
