Job summary

Murfreesboro Family Medicine is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team in Murfreesboro, TN. You will support providers with clinical tasks and handle administrative duties to ensure a smooth patient experience.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED; medical assistant certification is preferred but not required; prior medical office experience is expected. EMR experience and BLS certification are appreciated.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant certification preferred but not required.
• Previous medical office experience required.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with EMR systems preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Current BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain vital signs.
• Prepare charts and review patient information prior to appointments.
• Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
• Administer injections and perform basic clinical tasks as directed.
• Collect and document patient histories.
• Coordinate laboratory testing and communicate results as directed.
• Process prescription refill requests.
• Answer phones and assist patients with scheduling needs.
• Manage incoming faxes, scan documents, and maintain accurate medical records.
• Assist with prior authorizations and referrals.
• Help support billing and revenue cycle activities, including reviewing documentation for completeness.
• Maintain exam rooms and clinical supplies.
• Follow HIPAA and all applicable healthcare regulations.
