Job summary

Walnut Street Community Health Center, Inc. seeks a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support, preparing patients, taking vital signs, and assisting with exams in a community health setting.

The MA will document in the EHR, support care coordination, and educate patients on procedures and follow-up care. Some administrative tasks and referral coordination are also required.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant training program is required.
• Experience in Family Practice, Primary Care, Pediatrics, or Community Health is preferred.
• Proficient typing and accurate documentation within EHR systems.
• Basic computer skills and ability to navigate healthcare software.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers and clinical staff to deliver quality patient care.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
• Record vital signs and medical history.
• Perform point-of-care testing within scope and policies.
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed.
• Educate patients on medications, procedures, and follow-up care.
• Assist with exams and ensure exam rooms are stocked.
• Maintain timely documentation in the EHR.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate referrals.
• Support data entry, record management, and office operations.
