Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of Medical Assistant Certification Program required.
• Experience with EHR and medical office software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist healthcare providers
• Maintain EHR and document patient data in appropriate fields
• Collect specimens for laboratory testing, administer medications and immunizations and conduct patient intake and exit interviews
• Use data and patient registries to outreach to patients in need of preventive care and follow-up for chronic conditions
• Assist with patient referrals, tracking and follow-up
• As appropriate, take patient phone calls and follow up on patient requests
• Schedule appointments, verify insurance, check patients in and out and assess charges, including past due balances and collection of fees (e.g. co-payment, co-insurance, point-of-care incentive)
