Job summary

MyMichigan Medical Group is seeking a patient-focused Medical Assistant to support providers and coordinate care across office locations. Under supervision, you will perform triage, vital signs, documentation, and basic clinical tasks while maintaining HIPAA/OSHA/CLIA compliance and practice policies.

You will assist with examinations, prepare rooms, manage supplies, and communicate clearly with patients and team members. A High School diploma or GED and prior clinic experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients and staff.
• Mandatory OSHA training completed annually.
• Knowledge of medical office policies and procedures.
• Three to five years experience in the health care system or similar setting.
• Previous experience in a physician clinic setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Triages calls, schedules urgent/add-on visits, relays test results and coordinates care.
• Greets patients and family; performs routine pre-examination procedures including vital signs and data entry.
• Assists provider with examinations and procedures.
• Prepares/cleans the patient area; sets up equipment and sterilizes instruments.
• Orders supplies and medications as needed; maintains patient records with HIPAA compliance.
