Job summary

Sanford Health in Fargo, ND is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA/CMA) to assist with patient care across all ages in an ambulatory setting. You will collaborate with the patient and the care team to ensure comfort throughout the healthcare journey and build strong bonds with patients and coworkers.

Qualifications include graduation from a recognized Medical Assistant program, ND MAIII registration or eligibility, and national certifications.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program.
• Prior experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
• Nationally certified or registered as a Medical Assistant (MA).
• Certification (CMA) obtained through a nationally approved certification program (AAMA, CCMA, CMAC, NCMA, etc.).
• Registration (RMA) obtained through AMT is also acceptable.
• North Dakota MAIII registration through the ND Board of Nursing, with 4 months to obtain if not held at time of hire.
• MAs in MN/IA/SD/OR do not require state registration.
• BLS certification required within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Collects subjective and objective health status data and communicates with the provider.
• Follows through on the patient’s plan of care under the provider’s direction.
• Communicates the provider’s instructions for care to patient/caregiver.
• Participates in care for patients across the lifespan in all phases of care.
• Obtains vital signs, prepares patients for examinations, observes and reports signs/symptoms.
