Job summary

UCLA Health seeks a Mammography Technologist to perform high-quality diagnostic and screening mammography and provide patient-centered care. You will work with the Breast Imaging team, float between centers, and support safe imaging under MQSA standards.

Responsibilities include preparing patients, explaining procedures, adhering to safety and privacy standards, maintaining equipment and records, and collaborating with radiologists and staff to ensure exceptional service under the Health

Responsibilities

• Perform digital mammography examinations and assist the Radiologist with procedures as needed.
• Prepare patients for examinations, explain procedures, address questions and concerns, and ensure patient comfort, privacy, and dignity throughout the visit.
• Review imaging requests for appropriateness and coordinate examinations with other departments and services as needed.
• Follow established MQSA, quality assurance, quality control, and radiation safety standards, including maintaining accurate documentation and tracking required data.
• Maintain accurate records, ensure requisitions are complete, and appropriately document procedures performed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked work area and monitor supply levels to ensure adequate inventory.
• Inspect equipment and report maintenance or repair needs; ensure equipment is functioning within established safety and performance standards.
• Follow infection prevention, health and safety, confidentiality, and departmental policies and procedures.
• Provide first aid and appropriate assistance in the event of a patient emergency until additional support is available.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, physicians, nurses, and coworkers while demonstrating a commitment to excellent customer service and the Health System's C-I-CARE standards.
• Float between UCLA Health Breast Imaging Centers and participate in rotating shifts as needed.
