Baptist Health Medical Group is hiring a Medical Assistant for the Primary Care team in the Shelbyville Road area. You will work alongside providers to deliver compassionate patient care and grow skills in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of direct patient care in a medical setting required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant training program acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical support to physicians and APPs.
• Obtain vital signs, collect patient history, and reconcile medications.
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist with patient flow in the clinic.
• Document patient information accurately in the EPIC EMR.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate follow-up care.
• Process prescription refills and prior authorizations.
• Coordinate diagnostic testing and procedures.
• Perform clinical procedures such as EKGs, phlebotomy, injections after competency.
• Maintain a safe, organized clinical environment.
