Job summary

Baptist Health Medical Group on Harrodsburg Road in the Shelbyville Road area is hiring a Medical Assistant for our Primary Care team. This full-time, first-shift role offers hands-on patient care alongside experienced providers in a supportive, collaborative environment.

You will obtain vital signs, collect patient histories, reconcile medications, and assist with examinations. Responsibilities include documenting in EPIC, scheduling, prior authorizations, and coordinating tests and follow-ups.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program with hands-on clinical experience.

Whether you’re an experienced Medical Assistant or a recent graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program, you’ll have the opportunity to grow your skills in a supportive and collaborative environment. ## What You’ll DoAs a Medical Assistant, you will:* Provide direct clinical support to physicians and advanced practice providers.* Obtain vital signs, collect patient history, and reconcile medications.* Prepare patients for examinations and assist with patient flow throughout the clinic.* Document patient information accurately in the EPIC electronic medical record.* Schedule appointments and coordinate follow-up care.* Process prescription refill requests and prior authorizations.* Coordinate diagnostic testing and specialty procedures.* After successful completion of clinical competency, perform clinical procedures such as: + EKGs + Phlebotomy + Laboratory testing + Injections and vaccinations* Maintain a safe, organized, and patient-focused clinical environment. ## What We’re Looking For**Required Qualifications*** High school diploma or GED.* **One year of experience** providing direct, hands-on patient care in a medical office, clinic, or similar healthcare setting, including duties such as: + Obtaining vital signs + Documenting patient history and medications + Performing clinical procedures such as EKGs, phlebotomy, or administering injections**OR*** Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands-on clinical experience.
