Job summary

Baptist Medical Network within the Baptist Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant for a vital role in our medical office. You will provide direct nursing support, assist physicians, and help maintain a clean, safe environment per practice policies.

The position supports patient care and documentation, with a $1000 sign-on bonus for new hires. A Medical Assistant diploma or equivalent experience is required, CPR certification, and preferred MA certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited school or three years healthcare experience in lieu of diploma.
• CPR Certification required.
• Medical Assistant certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient needs, takes vital signs, history, medication list, and chief complaint.
• Completes patient records according to charting policy.
• Prepares equipment and assists physicians with treatments and procedures.
• Administers prescribed medications and performs basic lab tests (CLIA-waived as applicable).
• Maintains clean, safe clinical environment and stocks supplies.
• Complies with PPE requirements and infection control policies.
• Arranges referrals and pre-certifications as needed.
• Answers phones and assists front desk with scheduling and referrals.
