Job summary

Workstream is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our premier nursing facility in California. The LVN will provide and oversee patient care safely in accordance with regulations and facility policies.

Responsibilities include observing and documenting patient conditions, administering medications, taking vital signs, and coordinating care with CNAs and other nursing staff. The role requires valid LVN license and CPR/First Aid certification.

Qualifications

• Licensed and registered in good standing with the State Board of Nursing.
• 2+ years' experience in long-term care preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certified.
• Outstanding communication skills.
• Positive, professional and calm demeanor in all work-related situations.

Responsibilities

• Observes, reports and documents/charting on patient conditions.
• Administers medications in accordance with physician orders.
• Takes and records temperatures, respiration and pulse.
• Sets up treatment trays, prepares instruments and/or other equipment, as needed for treatments.
• Maintains working knowledge of assigned patient’s conditions at all times.
• Reviews reports from previous shifts to determine changes in status of residents and assigns duties to CNAs or other nursing personnel.
• Turns over accurate records and ensures oncoming shift nurses are updated.
• Notifies DNS/Administrator of changes in patient condition or other job-related problems.
