Job summary

CommonSpirit Health's Mercy Medical Center Redding is seeking a licensed vocational nurse to provide direct patient care and support the healthcare team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a BRN approved school of vocational nursing.
• Minimum two years acute care experience within previous five years.
• Licensed Vocational Nurse: CA.
• Basic Life Support - CPR through an American Heart Association provider.
• Driver's License: CA.
• Auto Insurance.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process for planning and delivery of direct and indirect patient care. Evaluates effectiveness of nursing interventions and updates Plan of Care as appropriate to patient condition/need.
• Performs documentation in patient records that is timely, accurate, and concise.
• Provides appropriate support at time of death.
• Performs efficiently in emergency situations, following established protocols, appropriate communication and documentation.
• Communicates with Interdisciplinary Team members regarding patient status and changes to Plan of Care per Hospice policy.
• Assumes responsibility for professional growth by taking advantage of the available opportunities. Participates in peer review and staff development, which includes unit and quality process improvement activities.
