Job summary

UNC Health Care System's UNC Faculty Physicians – Family Medicine Durham is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a full-time, on-site role in Durham, NC. This state position offers 40 hours per week with ongoing opportunities to contribute to patient-centered care.

You will provide direct patient care across the lifespan, document responses to therapies, assist with procedures, and support discharge planning under physician orders and policies.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited practical nurse program (LPN).
• Licensed to practice as an LPN in North Carolina; BLS required.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains a goal-oriented plan of care.
• Observes and documents patient responses to treatments and reports to the physician/RN.
• Participates in unit and department education and CQI activities.
• Assists with medications administration, procedures, and monitors vital signs.
• Assists patients and families during admission, orientation, and discharge.
• Provides support to patients and families, including de-escalation when needed.
