Job summary

The Good Samaritan Society's Desmet Center in De Smet, SD seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide professional nursing care for residents in long-term care. You will work under supervision and contribute to care plans, ensuring comfort, safety and quality outcomes for each resident.

Responsibilities include administering medications, documenting care, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support residents and their families within a Christian environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred.
• Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span or 400 hours as LPN at another facility.
• Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse license with State Nursing board and/or multi-state licensure privileges.

Responsibilities

• The LPN provides professional nursing care for residents in long‑term care under supervision.
• Administers medications or treatments as ordered and documents outcomes.
• Communicates effectively with residents, families and the interdisciplinary care team.
