Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a licensed practical nurse to provide quality patient care under supervision in a fast-paced healthcare setting. You will perform general nursing tasks, prepare equipment, assist providers, collect data, and document patient information to support accurate clinical records.

The role involves ordering tests, scheduling procedures, and possibly administering injections or medications.

Qualifications

• Minimum High school diploma/ GED or equivalent.
• Current state licensure as an LPN or multi-state licensure through eNLC.
• Preferred 1 year healthcare experience.
• State approved IV course certification.
• Knowledge of OASIS documentation and assessment process.
• PALS or ACLS may be required based on practice area.

Responsibilities

• Performs general nursing care in accordance with nursing practice standards.
• Assists with preparation of equipment and assists provider during treatment, examination, and testing.
• Collects assessment data and documents clinical information.
• Orders diagnostic tests and reviews results prior to provider assessment.
• Schedules procedures and obtains authorizations as necessary.
• May give injections or medications, collect specimens, and prepare them for testing.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
