Job summary

Weill Cornell Medicine in Midtown, NYC seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse to assist physicians and nurses with patient care, EMR chart management, and patient flow. 37.5 hours/week, Monday–Friday, non-exempt position.

Requires NYS LPN license with current registration, BLS, and Infection Control certification. Experience of ~2+ years preferred; new grads may be considered. High School Diploma required.

Qualifications

• Must be articulate and possess a professional demeanor.
• New grads may be considered; approximately 2+ years of clinical experience recommended.
• NYS Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with current registration; BLS and Infection Control certifications.
• High School Diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient flow, escorts to exam room, monitors wait times and prepares for exams.
• Keeps exam rooms clean and stocked; sterilizes instruments and discards waste properly.
• Records medical information in EMR as appropriate.
• Maintains inventory and may order supplies; assists with cost control as needed.
• Answers phones, triages calls and directs inquiries to appropriate staff.
• May perform administrative tasks: authorizations, referrals, logs, and message handling.
