Job summary

STEPS Detox in Lafayette, LA is seeking a compassionate LPN for full-time day or night shifts. Provide direct patient care to clients with substance use and co-occurring disorders, administer meds, and document care per physician orders.

To succeed, you must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program, hold an active LA LPN license, and demonstrate strong EMR skills, excellent communication, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced behavioral health setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current, unrestricted LPN license in Louisiana.
• Experience in nursing with solid patient care knowledge.
• Ability to interact well with patients and families.
• Strong computer skills including EMR, email, Word, Excel, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to clients with substance abuse and co-occurring needs.
• Conduct ongoing assessments and reprioritize care as needed.
• Administer medications as ordered with proper documentation.
• Perform TB tests and blood draws as needed.
• Document assessment findings and progress toward care goals.
• Initiate emergency resuscitation if needed.
• Deliver care in a non-judgmental, respectful manner.
• Report patient conditions during shifts and changes.
