Job summary

Natchitoches Regional Medical Center in Louisiana is seeking a Labor and Delivery nurse to provide direct patient care in the obstetric setting. You will assess and plan individualized care and communicate changes in patient status to physicians, including fetal monitoring results.

You will respond quickly to clinical changes, perform general perinatal nursing duties under supervision, and participate in performance improvement activities to support safe, high-quality maternal-newborn care.

Qualifications

• Current State of Louisiana Registered Nurse Licensure required.
• One or more years of recent Labor and Delivery/Newborn Nursery experience preferred.
• Neonatal Resuscitation certification.
• BCLS and fetal monitoring competency.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Labor and Delivery setting.
• Assess and plan individualized patient care.
• Communicate changes in condition to physicians and interpret fetal monitoring results.
• Respond quickly to changes in condition or response to treatment.
• Perform general nursing duties in all perinatal departments with adequate supervision.
• Participate in performance improvement activities.
