Job summary

Cedarhurst Senior Living seeks a Kentucky Medication Aide (KMA) to administer medications and provide direct resident care under the Director of Nursing. The role supports activities of daily living, documents care accurately, and communicates with physicians, families, and supervisors to ensure resident safety and independence.

Qualified candidates hold a state-approved medication aide certification and high school diploma, with insulin, CPR/BLS, and MS Office proficiency preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current state-approved medication aide/technician certification required.
• Insulin certification preferred.
• CPR or BLS certification preferred.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care and medication distribution per individualized plan of care.
• Observe residents and report condition changes to physicians and supervisors.
• Document observations and daily medication administration in the nursing record.
• Pass information to the next shift and ensure MAR/medication documentation is accurate.
• Administer insulin (where certified) and monitor glucose as necessary.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living and mobility as directed.
• Maintain a safe, patient-centered environment and promote independence.
