Job summary

Beaumont Animal Clinic in Urbana, IL is seeking a Veterinary Kennel Assistant to support the veterinary team with patient husbandry, feeding, walks for boarding patients, medication administration, and monitoring for medical or behavioral concerns. You will document observations and ensure kennels and treatment areas are clean and stocked.

Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working with dogs and cats of varying temperaments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a veterinary kennel assistant / kennel technician preferred.
• Passion for animal care and patient wellbeing.
• Comfort with dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments; ability to handle, restrain, walk, and monitor animals.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient husbandry and care, meals and walks for boarding patients.
• Administer medications and monitor for medical or behavioral concerns.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kennels, common areas and treatment spaces; monitor stocking levels.
• Document observations clearly and communicate concerns to the veterinary team.
