Job summary

Goodlettsville Animal Hospital is seeking a Kennel Assistant to support grooming and boarding operations. You will help keep cages, runs, and ward areas clean and safe, wash laundry, and supervise feeding and medications under supervision.

This role requires strong teamwork and careful attention to patient comfort. Hours include Mon 6:30am-8pm, Tue-Fri 6:30am-6pm, Sat 7:30am-4pm with Sundays off; shifts vary 4 to 8.5 hours.

Responsibilities

• Provides great care for patients visiting for grooming and/or boarding.
• Records admissions with client instructions, contact and pick-up details.
• Notes feeding schedules, appearance and behavior during visits.
• Observes general condition, signs of illness, and patient comfort.
• Handles patients properly and restrains difficult cases as needed.
• Walks patients several times daily for exercise and elimination.
• Provides appropriate food and liquids per needs.
• Ensures cages, toys and personal belongings are tracked and stored.
• Maintains kennels and areas clean and disinfected; washes bowls.
• Launders towels and blankets; cleans grounds and waste.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
