PetVet Care Centers’ Summerville Animal Hospital in Phenix City, Alabama is seeking a Part-Time Kennel Assistant. You will support veterinarians and technicians by cleaning, feeding, restraining, and exercising pets, while maintaining a clean, safe hospital environment.

This role requiresstanding for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and collaborating with team members to deliver compassionate care to each patient and client. Weekend availability is part of the schedule.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to work with or around sick animals, cleaning chemicals, and occasional hazardous materials.
• Physically demanding role with lifting, cleaning, and constant motion.
• Stand/walk for long periods; may involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• Ability to lift or carry moderately heavy animals up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to pets.
• Feed animals as prescribed and monitor appetites and fluid intake.
• Assist veterinarians and technicians with pet restraint.
• Maintain hospital cleanliness and proper handling of chemicals.
• Prioritize tasks and manage multiple duties efficiently.
• Walk patients according to schedule and communicate service details to clients.
