Job summary

Assisting Hands Home Care is seeking a part-time caregiver to provide non-medical, in-home support for elderly and disabled clients in the Southwest Portland area. You will work with our team to maintain clients’ dignity and independence in their own homes.

Responsibilities include daily living assistance, companionship, mobility support, and maintaining a safe, hygienic home environment while reporting client progress to the team.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Empathy and compassion for those in need of assistance.
• Previous caregiving experience or training.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including lifting and assisting clients.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication reminding/assistance.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
• Help clients with mobility and physical exercises as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to excellent hygiene standards.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure comprehensive care for clients and provide necessary updates on client progress.
