Always There In-Home Care is seeking a compassionate caregiver/CNA to supervise and provide companionship for a male client at Huntsville, AL. The role requires calm handling of dementia, PTSD, anxiety, and occasional catatonia, with emphasis on safety and dignity.

The ideal candidate has CNA credentials or prior caregiver experience, strong communication, reliability, and the ability to redirect during agitation. Shifts vary and may involve day or night coverage, with a $15/hour pay rate.

Qualifications

• CNA license or prior professional caregiver experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with dementia, schizophrenia, paranoia, or mental health-related care.

Responsibilities

• Supervision & companionship; engage client in conversation, light activity, and safety.
• Assist with showers, toileting, incontinence care, dressing, and mobility.
• Light housekeeping for the client’s area, laundry, dishes, and sanitizing surfaces.
• Prepare light meals/snacks when the wife is unavailable.
• Encourage regular bathroom use and assist with hygiene.
• Provide emotional support with positive, encouraging communication.
• Respect client’s dignity and maintain patience during agitation.
