Job summary

OneWell Health Care is seeking a Personal Attendant to provide compassionate, in-home care for individuals with IDD and Autism in California. You will assist with daily living tasks, meals, mobility, and medication reminders, while supporting independence and dignity in clients' homes or care facilities.

The role requires strong communication, adherence to care plans, and the ability to lift/move clients using proper safety equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous personal attendant or healthcare experience advantageous.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow care plans and detailed instructions.
• Capable of lifting and moving clients with proper safety equipment.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting.
• Provide companionship to enhance comfort and quality of life.
• Support mobility and transfers using appropriate equipment.
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding as needed.
• Remind and observe self-administration of medications as per care plans.
• Monitor changes in condition and report to healthcare team or family.
• Perform light housekeeping and meal cleanup.
• Transport clients to appointments and activities as required.
• Maintain accurate daily records of care and client condition.
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists and other professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
• Follow HIPAA confidentiality standards.
