Job summary

Vertical Home Health in Bloomington, Indiana is seeking a compassionate home health aide to join our growing team. The right candidate has a can-do attitude, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to provide many levels of support to our clients.

Responsibilities include personal hygiene assistance, medication reminders, mobility support, meal planning, light housekeeping, shopping, and reporting emergencies.

Qualifications

• Dementia experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation daily.
• Available to work different shifts, including nights and weekends.
• Minimum 1 year of healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; experience as a Home Health Aide.
• Ability to provide compassionate, high-quality care.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene assistance for elderly patients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries or accidents by attending to their basic needs, such as showering, bathing, dressing and eating
• Remind clients to take prescribed medication
• Help with mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks etc.)
• Assist with personal care and hygiene
• Plan and prepare meals
• Complete client’s shopping or accompany them to successfully do so
• Perform housekeeping duties
• Report any unusual incidents and act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
• Offer activities that are essential for daily living by assisting patients with their meals, including serving and other tasks, if necessary
