Job summary

Better Living is seeking a Housekeeper to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment in our assisted living community. You will clean resident apartments, common areas, and facility spaces while upholding infection control standards and resident comfort.

Responsibilities include sanitizing bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms, and living areas; daily cleaning of hallways and lounges; changing linens; handling supplies safely; reporting maintenance issues; collaborating with care staff to support

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping, janitorial, or environmental services experience preferred, especially in healthcare or senior living.
• Knowledge of safe cleaning practices and infection control standards.
• Ability to manage time effectively and work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.
• Compassionate and respectful demeanor when working around older adults.
• Good communication and customer service skills, especially when working in resident-occupied areas.
• Must pass required criminal background check in order to serve vulnerable adults.
• Must be screened TB and other state-required health care conditions.
• Be able to read, write, and comprehend English.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize resident apartments, including bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms, and living areas.
• Perform daily and scheduled cleaning of common areas such as hallways, lounges, dining rooms, activity spaces, and restrooms.
• Dust, vacuum, mop, sweep, and polish floors and furniture as needed.
• Change linens, make beds, and launder resident or facility items as assigned.
• Safely handle and store cleaning supplies, following proper infection control and safety protocols.
• Report any maintenance needs, safety hazards, or resident concerns to the appropriate staff promptly.
• Respect resident privacy and belongings while working in living spaces.
• Assist in preparing rooms for new residents to ensure a clean and welcoming move-in experience.
• Collaborate with care staff and other departments to support overall resident well-being and satisfaction.
• Adhere to community policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Other duties as assigned
