Job summary

Kendal at Oberlin is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper for a 32 hr/wk float position in the Nursing Care Center. The role supports quality of life by maintaining safe, sanitary, homelike environments and reports to the Environmental Operations Manager.

Flexible weekend coverage is required and duties include general cleaning across the Care Center and Community Center. Experience in housekeeping is required, and prior health care center work is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Must possess effective oral and written communication skills and the ability to understand written and oral communications.
• MUST HAVE HOUSEKEEPING EXPERIENCE.
• Prior housekeeping experience in a health care center highly preferred.
• Detail oriented with a basic knowledge or housekeeping chemicals, equipment and cleaning/operating techniques.
• Must have a pleasant personality capable of contending with all people in a cooperative, helpful manner.
• Ability to walk, climb, bend, push, stoop, pull, crawl, lift and carry weights up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Dusting (high and low)
• Wet and dry mopping floors
• Washing windows, walls, counters, doors and baseboards
• Disinfecting and cleaning bathrooms and kitchens
• Stripping, waxing and buffing floors
• Stripping and redressing beds
• Restocking supplies
• Trash removal and recycling
