Job summary

VITAS Healthcare seeks an experienced home care registered nurse (RN) to ensure hospice patients are comfortable and to forge compassionate connections with families. The role emphasizes autonomy at the bedside, guiding care decisions with dignity and respect for the patient’s end-of-life journey.

You will visit patients in homes or facilities, typically 4–6 visits per day, and collaborate weekly with an interdisciplinary team to provide holistic support to patients and families we serve.

Qualifications

• RN license in the state where the VITAS program is located.
• At least two years of nursing experience.
• Reliable transportation to visit patients in their homes and facilities.
• EOE/AA M/F/D/V

Responsibilities

• Provide comfort to hospice patients and build compassionate connections with families.
• Make care decisions at the bedside with autonomy while ensuring patient comfort.
• Support palliative-focused care and educate patients and families about end-of-life options.
• Visit patients’ homes or facilities, typically 4–6 visits per day, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.
