Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Graduate from an approved training and competency course.
• Must meet federal Home Health Aide training and competency requirements.
• Ability to work independently and make quick judgments.
• Ability to respond appropriately to crisis outside of hospital settings.
• Able to adapt to diverse social, racial, cultural and religious contexts.
• Minimum 2 years nursing assistant experience preferred.
• Active patient contact in past three years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care to terminally ill hospice patients under RN direction.
• Offer support and understanding to families, including bereavement support.
