Job summary

Iowa River Hospice in Marshalltown is seeking a Part-Time Registered Nurse In-Patient to provide compassionate care to terminally ill patients and support their families. The RN will administer medications, monitor symptoms, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include care coordination, on-call support, EMR documentation, and ensuring privacy under HIPAA. The role requires Iowa RN license, Bachelor’s preferred, and 2–5 years of hospice or related clinical experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current RN license in Iowa.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2 years home care and hospice or 3-5 years clinical experience with problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Experience in an on-call, supervisory, charge role or leadership position preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care through communication with care teams.
• Develop and evaluate care plans; make referrals as needed.
• Assist with provider selection and resources for hospice care.
• Oversee on-call team to ensure quality care and productivity.
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving and leadership in various situations.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff.
• Document patient data in EMR.
• Adhere to HIPAA and privacy regulations.
• Support care management activities as needed.
