Responsibilities

• Vacuums, dusts, empties trash, and thoroughly cleans all assigned areas in a manner and frequency established in the housekeeping policy.
• Actively maintains a clean, safe, orderly, and homelike atmosphere.
• Responds promptly and cheerfully to requests for emergency clean up service.
• Cleans and disinfects patient care equipment, such as bed, over-bed table, bedside commode at change of room occupancy change, according to OSHA requirements.
• Promptly reports changes in patient, patient/family requests and hazardous conditions to charge nurse.
• Promptly reports any hazardous condition to charge nurse or Clinical Supervisor as appropriate.
