Job summary

Harbor Hospice in Muskegon, MI is seeking a part-time dietary aide to support terminally ill patients in the hospice residence. You will cook meals per menu and ensure food safety and quality while collaborating with the care team.

The role requires a high school diploma and basic dietary experience; driving may be required for errands. Scheduling includes every other weekend and holidays with a 48-hour biweekly rotation. Training provided and HIPAA compliance expected.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate.
• General dietary experience is preferred.
• Licensed to drive with an automobile that is insured and is in good working order.

Responsibilities

• Provides dietary support to terminally ill patients and families in the hospice residence.
• Cooks meals per menu, standardized recipes, and patient census.
• Ensures food is kept at correct temperatures and minimizes waste.
• Operates kitchen equipment per manufacturer guidelines and regulations.
• Maintains proper labeling and storage of refrigerated and frozen foods.
• Maintains cleanliness of serving areas, equipment and utensils per health code.
• Collaborates with family/caregiver and Hospice interdisciplinary team to meet patient needs.
• Maintains a safe environment for the patient and adheres to policies and safety procedures.
• Participates in ongoing education and attends staff meetings and in-services.
