Job summary

The Hospice of Baton Rouge is seeking a dedicated Nurse Aide to support terminally ill patients at home or in care settings. You will provide personal care, maintain hygiene, and help with daily activities under RN supervision.

You will collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Team to review care plans, report condition changes, document visits, and help ensure a safe, compassionate environment for patients and families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Completion of approved nurse aide training and competency evaluation.
• Current CPR certification.
• At least 1 year of experience as a nurse's aide.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and maintain patient hygiene.
• Assist with respite and relief for patient’s family.
• Maintain a safe, healthy environment for patients and families.
• Collaborate with Interdisciplinary Team to review and amend care plans.
• Report changes in patient condition to the RN.
• Keep accurate records of visits and duties performed.
• Assist with transfers, turning, and ambulation as ordered.
• Provide simple wound care under RN supervision.
