Job summary

Blue Summit Hospice and Palliative Care in Georgia is seeking a compassionate Home Health Aide to provide essential personal care to terminally ill patients under RN supervision. Responsibilities include bathing, mouth care, mobility assistance, and basic comfort measures in the home.

You will support families, observe patient condition changes, follow the care plan, perform routine tasks, maintain safety, and participate in ongoing education and certification requirements.

Qualifications

• Must meet state Home Health Aide training and competency requirements.
• Ability to work independently and make accurate judgments.
• Must adapt to diverse social, racial, cultural and religious modes.

Responsibilities

• Bath, mouth, skin and hair care for patient.
• Assistance with bathroom use, bed transfers and mobility as ordered.
• Range of motion exercises per care plan.
• Provide incidental household services essential to wellbeing.
• Take temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure if RN assigns.
• Support shopping if patient has no other resources.
• Provide emotional support to patient and family.
• Maintain competency and participate in supervision/evaluations.
• Report changes to RN and hospice office.
• Adhere to OSHA and facility policies.
• Attend inservice education and maintain certifications.
