Job summary

Amedisys Beacon Hospice is seeking a CNA Hospice Aide to provide compassionate, home-based care across Augusta to Boothbay. The role offers pay between $25.00 and $27.00 per hour with full benefits and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities include patient personal care, safety-focused nursing tasks, and coordination with the RN for care plans. A valid CNA certification and CPR are required, along with reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant.
• CNA experience within the last two years.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics to the performance of personal and supportive care such as ambulation, transferring, ROM, and positioning, and doing household chores.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals, assists with feeding, as assigned.
• Performs homemaking and other environmental services as assigned.
• Observes, reports, and documents changes in patient's status; report to the primary nurse if unable to perform a task.
• Follow written instructions for personal care prepared by a RN in accordance with the plan of care.
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist.
• Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.
