Job summary

Advantage Hospice is seeking a Part Time Chaplain to provide spiritual and emotional support to patients, families, and the care team in Mechanicsburg, PA. You’ll honor diverse beliefs, collaborate with a multidisciplinary group, and help with memorial services and bereavement follow-up.

You will also attend team meetings to share insights on spiritual well-being and maintain accurate visit records, while building a referral network with local clergy for specialized care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited seminary or theology school, or certification in hospital or pastoral ministry.
• At least 2 years of experience as a chaplain or spiritual counselor preferred; direct patient contact in the last 3 years is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and connect deeply with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong communication and compassionate demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Provide heartfelt spiritual support to patients and families, honoring their beliefs.
• Collaborate with staff, clergy, and community partners to address spiritual needs.
• Attend interdisciplinary team meetings and share insights on spiritual well-being.
• Offer bereavement support and follow-up care to families after a loss.
• Maintain compassionate, accurate records of visits and interactions.
• Lead or assist with memorial services and coordinate funeral planning as needed.
• Build relationships with clergy to support referrals for spiritual care.
• Be available for on-call spiritual services as required.
• Develop educational programs for local clergy and leaders to support patients and families.
