Job summary

Gentiva Hospice is seeking a compassionate Hospice Aide/CNA to provide hands-on personal care and emotional support to patients in home, assisted living, or inpatient settings. The role emphasizes dignity, comfort, and family-centered care within a safety-conscious team.

The position requires an active CNA license in the state of employment, CPR certification, a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation, and at least 6 months of direct patient care experience.

Qualifications

• Active CNA license in the state of employment (Required).
• Current CPR certification (Required).
• Driver’s license and reliable vehicle with insurance (Required).
• Six (6) months of direct patient care experience (Required).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care to terminally ill patients.
• Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, and toileting.
• Support safe mobility using walkers and wheelchairs.
• Help with meal preparation, feeding, and light housekeeping.
• Observe and report changes in patient condition.
• Offer emotional support to patients and families.
• Maintain accurate documentation of visits.
• Attend team meetings and participate in Quality Improvement activities.
