Job summary

Maxim Healthcare is seeking a compassionate Direct Care Worker (DCW) to provide in-home patient care on the day shift in Allentown, PA. You will assist with ADLs, monitor vital signs, and support safety under nursing supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Healthcare or caregiver experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift, move, and assist patients safely.
• CPR/BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
• Measure and record vital signs.
• Assist with ambulation, transfers, and mobility.
• Maintain patient comfort and safety.
• Report changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
• Document care provided according to facility policies.
• Support infection prevention and safety procedures.
• Provide compassionate and respectful patient interactions.
