Responsibilities

• Provides quality nursing care to patients with life-limiting illness and maintains the nursing process in conjunction with the primary physician.
• Participates in interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient-directed care plans; consults with attending physician when needed.
• Educates patients and families to promote skills for quality care, infection control, and independence.
• Documents accurately in the chart and forms to provide a clear inpatient record.
• Participates in Quality Improvement efforts to improve patient care quality.
• Directs and supervises Patient Care Partners, Unit Receptionists, and volunteers to maintain the care environment.
