Job summary

ADP, Inc. is seeking a Home Health Aide for a regular full-time position in Santa Barbara, CA.

The role supports patients under supervision of a Registered Nurse or Therapist and delivers essential personal care services to meet the patient’s needs. The Home Health Aide will observe and report patient conditions, assist with bathing, hygiene, meals, mobility, and medication management as directed, and help maintain a safe, clean living environment.

Qualifications

• Current and active California Home Health Aide Certification.
• Current CPR certification.
• Licensed driver with insured automobile.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given.
• Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision.
• Empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail and the impaired.

Responsibilities

• Baths.
• Back rubs.
• Oral hygiene.
• Shampoos.
• Assisting patients with dressing and undressing.
• Skin care to prevent breakdown.
• Assisting in toileting activities.
• Keeping patient’s living area clean and orderly.
• Planning and preparing nutritious meals.
• Assisting in feeding the patient, if necessary.
• Taking and recording vital signs when ordered.
• Meets the average daily productivity standards as set by the agency.
• Knowledge of regulations pertaining to home health services.
• Performing range of motion and other simple procedures as directed.
• Assisting patient in self-administration of medication.
• Doing patient’s laundry when appropriate.
• Meeting safety needs and using equipment safely.
• Reporting on patient’s condition to the assigned nurse.
• Adhering to documentation and care procedures and standards.
• Attends monthly meetings and in-services.
