Job summary

PurposeCare, a leading home health and home care provider in the Midwest, seeks caring Home Health Aides (HHAs) to support clients in their own homes in Ohio. Expect hands-on personal care, daily living assistance, and meaningful work with flexible opportunities.

Licensed HHAs/CNAs are encouraged to apply; candidates willing to become certified are welcome. Travel to patient homes and adherence to care plans are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a state-approved Home Health Aide (HHA) training program, CNA certificate, STNA license or at least 1.5 years of recent caregiving experience in home care, assisted living, long-term care, nursing home, or hospital settings.
• HHA certification or equivalent credential as required by Ohio state regulations.
• Basic knowledge of patient care and safety protocols.
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care support including bathing, grooming, dressing, oral hygiene, and toileting.
• Assist with mobility, transfers, ambulation, and range-of-motion exercises per care plan.
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding as needed.
• Support medication self-administration through reminders (no independent med administration).
• Monitor and report patient condition and changes to the supervising nurse.
• Take and record basic vital signs when trained and assigned.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly client environment.
• Assist with linens and light client laundry as appropriate.
• Use safety equipment properly (rails, supports, stools, etc.).
• Document care provided according to company and regulatory standards.
• Travel reliably to patient homes and assigned visits across your service area.
• Complete required in-service training, including annual dementia education.
