Job summary

Right at Home in New York is seeking compassionate Homemaker/Companion to support seniors and adults with disabilities in their own homes. You will provide companionship, assist with daily chores, and help maintain a clean, safe living environment.

Training will be provided with ongoing career development. You should be reliable, friendly, and able to communicate well; a HS diploma and driver's license are required, with flexible schedules and paid travel between clients.

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED required.
• Must have completed a written Competency Evaluation.
• Sympathetic attitude toward care of clients.
• Read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must be able to lift at least __ lbs.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be able to operate a vehicle legally.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and safety to clients in their homes.
• Assist with homemaking activities (vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, mopping, dishes).
• Prepare simple meals and run errands as needed.
• Build a supportive client relationship and understand care needs.
• Assist with activities and outings to promote engagement and well-being.
