Job summary

Avanta Care Home Health in Huntsville, AL is seeking a compassionate Home Health Aide to support clients in their own homes. The role focuses on assisting with daily living activities, monitoring health, and promoting comfort and independence.

You will work closely with families and healthcare professionals, provide meal support, light housekeeping, and companionship, and adhere to care plans. CPR certification is preferred; reliability and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in home health care is preferred but not required.
• Ability to follow care plans and report changes to supervisors.
• Capable of assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
• CPR certification is desirable.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
• Prepare meals and ensure clients receive nutritious meals tailored to their dietary needs.
• Perform patient observation to monitor changes in health status and report any concerns to healthcare providers.
• Offer companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
• Maintain cleanliness in the client's living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and laundry.
• Provide memory care support for clients with cognitive impairments, ensuring safety and promoting cognitive engagement.
• Administer CPR if necessary and assist with catheter care as required by the client’s health plan.
